Veshike
The lazybones are resting too much! Help the Namahage identify and punish them!
The lazybones are resting too much! Help the Namahage identify and punish them!
In Veshike, you wear the costume and mask of a Namahage, a divine messenger who punishes idlers. People who spend all day lounging around develop blisters under their feet when they sit by the fire. That is how you will recognize them. But be careful! They will swap places to confuse you, so memorize their clothing!
For the "Mask" theme of the Global Game Jam 2026, here is Veshike!

My Role in the Project
My role in the Veshike project was Lead Programmer and Producer. I also acted as a Mentor at the venue where the event took place.
I took part in this Jam with two artist colleagues, joined by additional junior members met on site.
To tackle the 48 hours of development, once the theme was revealed, the team and I defined a small-scale, fun project with a simple core mechanic, aiming to reach an advanced production state as quickly as possible within the available time.
During production, being the only developer in role and having to alternate with mentoring duties, I structured the project so my teammates could work independently on separate elements, reducing the risk of overlap.
We completed development with a fully working project, but above all, it became a valuable source of learning and experimentation for many team members.
