Terna VR Training

VR Simulator for high-altitude operations.

AnotheRealityLearningVRSingle player

The Terna VR Training project, developed for PC, SteamVR, and HTC Vive, is a realistic simulator for maintenance operations on facilities, especially in high-risk scenarios, based on processes and instructions provided by Terna.

The project covers topics such as the use of PPE and the safety rules on what to do and what to avoid in the proposed situations, in order to ensure personal and collective safety, as well as the successful completion of the operations.

My Role in the Project

My role in the Terna VR Training project was that of a Unity Programmer.

I was responsible for developing the scenario selection menu and, with the support of another programmer, the custom interaction logic with objects, the logic for wearing PPE, the mechanics for using in-scene equipment, and, most importantly, the climbing mechanic on the pylon using a harness and hooks.

I also implemented the exercise execution state machine and the reference UI system, which provides details of the completed and pending operations, along with related visual aids such as images and videos.
